As well as keeping a stress relief journal if you’re wanting to pinpoint particular areas of tension in your life, keeping a ‘what’s happening/where am I at’ kind of journal can also be a great tool in your arsenal of stress management solutions.  I am not sure if it is because of the repititive tap-tap of typing is somehow calming or it is the need to get whatever it is that is bugging you out of your own head so that you can get some perspective on it or it is that feeling of being heard but keeping your own journal can be also those things.  It can be a way to self-acknowledge all the good things that have happened to you, a place to be grateful without sounding like Pollyanna, and a safe place to splurge any excess emotions that are threatening to leap out of you onto the next unsuspecting person you come into contact with.
