Women are highly at risk of developing depression. In fact, depression is stated to be more common in women. According to a current study in the U.S., women are twice as prone to develop depression in their life compared to men. Although, the statistics of suicidal deaths occurs mostly in men, it is still important to comprehend what causes depression in women.
Hormonal imbalance- Hormonal imbalances in especially during menstrual cycle, after pregnancy and delivery, and menopausal has been attributed to the development of depression in women. Social causes like financial difficulties, stress, and relationship conflicts were also some of the factors considered.
